Time really flies by! It’s been one month since our wedding, so Mike and I decided to celebrate at Q4 on West Broadway. I wore the dress I bought in Paris! The restaurant was smaller than I expected, and the decor was in no way pretentious. The service was mediocre, but the main courses were amazing.

Above was my Pacific sablefish on truffled sweet corn, which was basically the most delicious fish I have had in quite a long time. Soft, smooth, and served on top of asparagus and potatoes.

Mike had the cinnamon rosemary lamb sirloin with fig demi glace, cooked medium. They sure know how to cook their meat! The one bite I had was very savoury and juicy.

For dessert, I had the tiramisu, which was unfortunately nothing special. I personally like a creamier tiramisu, and this one had more cake than I prefer.

Mike had the Italian trifle, which had vanilla cream with cake and berries, quite yummy. I would like to go back to try the antipasto platter and Mike is excited about testing the chef’s multi-course tasting menu.
The most entertaining part of our dinner was watching the other diners. Not that we were trying, but it’s not eavesdropping when they’re talking too loud, right? On one side, we sat next to two ladies who were clearly having a wonderful time – one of which got a bit too excited and knocked over her tea, splashing my Kate Spade heels in the process. On the other side, we had a lovely couple who wanted different wine glasses, the ravioli cooked in a different sauce, and all-in-all proved that I would never make a good waitress.
